By 5/31/11, Mail form along with $5 registration fee and a copy of birth records to: CMNH LIONS-FISH FRY BABY CONTEST, 3327 California St., Costa Mesa, CA 92626 If you miss the deadline, fax by 6/3/11 and bring fee & proof of date of birth to the judging.
Registration is limited to 25 babies in each group ( REGISTER EARLY) and will remain open until each group has 25 babies. Parents will be notified when their child is added to the Contestant List by phone or email if registered by 5/31/11.
Rules
- Babies must be within the age categories and in the correct group based on their age as
of the date of the contest.Age Group 1: 6-12 months, Group 2: 12-24 months
- One parent, or an adult designated by the parent, may be in the circle with each baby.
- Spectators will be allowed to view judging but MUST remain in the spectator area.
- Bottles or small toys are allowed during judging, however, strollers & other items
should remain with someone in the spectator area. - Babies need to stay within an arms length of their parent and within the judging circle.
Judging
- On Sunday, June 5th, bring your baby to the Downtown Community Center at Lions
Park, Costa Mesa. Arrive by 12:45 pm, judging begins promptly at 1:00 pm. - Judging is held inside the Community Center. At check-in you will be given an entry number to put on your left shoulder. There will be two circles of chairs, one for each group. Find the seat with your number.
- Judges are impartial and we appreciate them taking the time to judge. Please remember judging babies is not easy because all babies are adorable! This is a fun contest, which should not be taken too serious.
- Judging is based on personality, beauty and overall appearance and begins as soon as you enter the circle with your baby.
- Judging will end at about 1:30 pm. Babies and spectators will be asked to go to the
outside stage area at 2 pm for the Awards Presentation. Please take strollers and personal items with you.
Awards Presentation
- At 2:00 pm, Group 1 should be lined up behind the outside stage area. Each baby will be introduced individually. Parent & baby will proceed slowly across the stage and down the opposite steps. Babies may walk or be carried across stage, but parent must have a hand on them at all times.
- After the introductions, the emcee will call up 6 contestants from Group 1. Please come to the stage quickly if your number is called. Honorable Mentions awards will be followed by 3rd, 2nd and 1st place awards. All babies will receive a participation award.li>
- Group 2 will follow the same procedure.
